Wilson High School Class of 1945 Scholarship Fund (2014)

“We moved our scholarship monies to an endowed fund at the Community Foundation so our history and our efforts would exist in perpetuity.  When we graduated from Wilson High School, it was a segregated school for blacks only.  The Class of 1945 is getting older and we thought our determination to help deserving students further their education would stop when we all passed to our next deserving life.  When we learned about the Community Foundation,  we realized that a fund there in our name would forever remind people that the “Fabulous 1945ers” worked hard to pass on their belief in a strong education for all.”   Scholarship committee for Wilson High School Class of 1945.
