ECCF’s Blackwell Ervin Family Fund created a designated fund in memory of Courtney Graham’s favorite charity after her family and officials at House of Hope opened a homeless shelter in her name. Courtney died unexpectedly in 2015 at the age of 46 leaving the nonprofit community in deep grief with the loss of a strong advocate for Florence’s most vulnerable citizens.  This new community shelter for the homeless will carry on the legacy of Courtney McGinnis Graham.

Courtney’s dream was a shelter for Florence’s most vulnerable citizens, and she had the tenacity, passion and commitment to make it happen,” said the Rev. William F. Malambri III, former pastor at Central United Methodist Church. “She wanted this shelter to exist because she had concern for those that too many would rather ignore.

Establishing a designated fund creates an endowment for the designated nonprofit, church or school so that an annual income stream is available to the recipient.  The endowment grows over time increasing the annual gift.
