Marion Library Endowment (2014)

Marion Library Endowment exists to benefit the citizens in its community – Marion, SC, just like a community foundation does. The Marion County Library System revitalized five of its long-standing endowments in Marion and Mullins by creating five endowed funds with Eastern Carolina Community Foundation in January 2014.  By becoming part of the endowed corpus at the Community Foundation it has a greater chance of earning more money and working to create a stronger library system. For every dollar spent on a library, there’s a much greater economic return to the community.

The five endowments transferred were: The Marion Library Endowment, Mullins Library Endowment, Mullins Library Trust, Tilghman Endowment for Marion County, and the Moore Endowment for Marion County Library. As designated endowment funds at the Community Foundation, these endowments will now see more growth and therefore return more monies to benefit the library system.  Each fund can accept additional contributions from individuals, families, businesses and organizations.
