Response to Hurricane Florence: Pee Dee Disaster Relief Fund

We know that in the days ahead our local nonprofit organizations will be called upon to deliver aid.  Let’s help our neighbors by pulling together as a community!

Eastern Carolina Community Foundation is accepting donations to support Hurricane Florence relief across the Pee Dee region. Contributions will go to nonprofit agencies working to meet the needs of hurricane victims in our area.ECCF created the Pee Dee Disaster Relief Fund in 2010 at the urging of public officials in response to tornadoes in Darlington County. The fund distributed over $80,000  to victims of the 2015 Flood and 2016 Hurricane Matthew by working with local Pee Dee nonprofit organizations. Recipients included Lighthouse Ministries, Caring and Sharing in Hemingway, City of Johnsonville, Florence County Council on Aging, the city of Nichols, Marion County Habitat for Humanity, the Felician Center as well as the Long Term Disaster Recovery Groups in Florence, Marion, and Dillon Counties.

Hurricane Florence is such a big storm that we have a chance to get ahead of its impact and notify you now of ways you can help locally. Donating to this fund will keep local contributions serving local citizens impacted by this disaster.
